September TBR

September through to December is my favourite part of the year, and I always find myself reading a lot during these months. I think it’s the colder weather that makes me want to just curl up with a book, and so I’m really looking forward to reading a few books this month. I like to keep my TBR’S quite short, so I should be able to read all of the books on my TBR, and hopefully one or two more.

1. I am Malala: The Story of the Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban by Malala Yousafzai with Christina Lamb – I’m definitely planning on reading this this month, as it’s the book of the month for The Feminist Orchestra Bookclub, which is hosted by Jean Menzies (you can check out Jean’s blog here, and her YouTube channel here). Malala is such an amazing young woman, and I’m really looking forward to reading her story.
2. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky – This is one of my favoutite books, but I’ve actually only ever read it twice. I thought September would be a good time to re-read it, as I always watch the film before I go back to school, so I thought I’d quickly re-read it this year before I start uni.
3. The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger – This is another re-read for me. I think I originally read the Catcher in the Rye about two or three years ago, and I can’t really remember that much about it. Again, September seems a good time to re-read it, as it’s a coming of age story.
4. The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck – I re-read Of Mice and Men a few months ago for the first time since I studied it at school, and it’s one of my favourite books. I love Steinbeck’s writing, and I’m really interested in reading more about the Great Depression, so I thought I’d read some more of his work.
